Holiday apartment in an old farmhouse near skiing and hiking areas

Your holiday accommodation is a family-run farmhouse from the 18th century on the southern slope of Hunau, on an elevation at 550 metres above sea level, in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Hochsauerland, the idyllic Upper Sorpe Valley, between Winterberg and Schmallenberg. The holiday house is by the Sorpetal hiking trail.

The highest mountain in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kahle Asten (altitude 841 metres), with its viewing platform and the Rothaarsteig trail are only about 7 minutes away by car. It is just a few kilometres to the Winterberg and Altastenberg ski resorts. You can enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday here, no matter whether in winter or in summer.

Your holiday apartment is on the first floor of the house and has a separate entrance, without steps during the snow-free season. The apartment was fully newly renovated and given modern, charming and contemporary furnishing in 2012. The rooms are fitted with smoke alarms and the plugs have child safety covers. The apartment consists of a big living room with a balcony facing south-west with a big window and door element, providing a 3FD LED satellite TV, a portable stereo system with a radio, CD, MP3 and USB port, a sofa corner and a reading armchair. The separate kitchen with a dining table and three chairs is fully-equipped, including a stove with a ceramic hob, an oven, a dishwasher, a fridge, a freezer, a coffee machine, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster etc. The apartment also has two bedrooms, one with a double bed (180 x 200cm) and a big cupboard, and another small bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower and a WC. There is also a storage room.

There is plenty of seating outside for relaxing and enjoying time out. A few animals look forward to your visit, namely two German heaths, two geese, two small rabbits and a couple of hens that can lay your breakfast eggs.

Wireless Internet access and a telephone connection for German mainline calls are available. Equipment for a baby or toddler can be provided on request. The flooring is hygienic and antiallergenic, with tile or laminate.

Nearby you can find the towns of Winterberg and Schmallenberg with a range of leisure activities, such as a toboggan and sledge piste, a summer bobsleigh, a climbing forest, the largest bike park in Germany, a panoramic bridge, carting tracks indoor and outdoor, the Fortfun leisure park, the Sauerlandbad, a public mine,Heistollen Nordenau and bad Fredeburg, the Kyrillpfad etc and a well-developed network of hiking trails with popular trails including Rothaarsteig, Sauerland Höhenflug, forest adventure trail etc. In winter you can find the largest German ski resort here to the north of the Alps, with good snow conditions and many ski pistes, rustic chalets from December to March. A well-maintained network of cross-country skiing trails invites you to go on leisurely or sporty tours through the snowy winter landscape.
